Year 4

Summer term in Year 4!

|

Welcome to the summer term.

Our topic for this half term is 'The Art of Food.' We have an exciting start to this topic as we have the dentist visting school! We will have the opportunity to discuss how to keep our teeth and gums healthy and ask him any questions. As well as learning all about teeth, we will also be exploring the function of our digestive system during this topic.

In English, we will be looking at the text 'Journey to Jo'Burg,' as part of our 'Issues and Dilemmas' unit of work. We will then move onto writing persuasive adverts which will be linked to our science work.

West Lancashire Sports Partnership will continue to deliver Monday P.E sessions suring the first summer half term.

To help at home please:

  • Encourage and listen to your child read regularly and sign their reading record.
  • Check and sign your child’s homework every week (ensure they use basic punctuation in English homework).
  • Ensure written English homework is presented neatly and that their handwriting is joined.
  • Practise times tables and corresponding division facts.
  • Check that your child is practising their personal spellings.
  • Ensure your child’s P.E kit is in school every week (Monday & Thursday sessions).

There will be a Year 4 Collective Worship which all parents and carers are invited to on Tuesday 9th May 2017 at 3.00p.m. in the junior hall.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us via the school office.

Many thanks for your continued support,

Mrs Brookfield and Miss Szandurski.

Year 4 NSPCC Fundraising Day

|

On Friday 28th April, the year 4 children took part in the whole school fundraising day for the NSPCC. Everyone came to school with crazy hair styles and throughout the day we ran 3 kilometres (10 laps of our school field).

Here are a selection of photographs from the day. Well done year 4! You were absolutely amazing!
