We believe that daily Collective Worship in St Anne’s School celebrates God’s presence in our lives. It is centered around giving glory, honour, praise and thanks to God. It is our loving response, in word and action, to God’s invitation to enter into a relationship with Him, made possible through the work of Jesus Christ and the witness of the Holy Spirit.
The Year of the Word
This year has been dedicated to the 'Year of the Word' when the children will be celebrating, living and sharing God's Word in their daily Collective Worship. There will be a particular focus on 'Journeying with Matthew' through his gospel. Matthew presents the teaching of Jesus with order, completeness and balance, with the Kingdom of God as his central theme.
In order to celebrate 'The Year of the Word' in St Anne's School, each family will receive a weekly scriptural leaflet - 'The Wednesday Word' - designed to bring families together around the Word of God.
This is the official prayer for 'The Year of the Word' for you to share with your children.
Living God,
you walk alongside us and
speak to us throughout the Scriptures.
Your Son, Jesus Christ,
lstens to our hopes and fears
and shows us how to live with one another.
Send us the Holy Spirit
to open our hearts and minds
so that we may be your witnesses
throughout the world.
AMEN
In school, the children will continue to celebrate Matthew's word in their Collective Worship themes throughout the year, beginning in the new year by gathering together for their Whole School Collective Worship focussing on Matthew's story of the Three Wise Men.
